PhantomTrace is an investigation platform for app-store clones. We built it because the existing tools surface marketing intelligence — and we needed evidence.
WHAT WE DO
THE PLATFORM
PhantomTrace searches 11 storefronts — Apple App Store, Google Play, Steam, VK Play, Huawei AppGallery, RuStore, Xiaomi GetApps, Samsung Galaxy Store, Amazon Appstore, Indus App Bazaar, and PlayStation Store — using keyword variants, image fingerprints, and metadata signals derived from the seed app. Suspects are scored for similarity and ranked for manual review. Those that warrant deeper examination go to code comparison. Everything that matters is bundled into a self-contained case file: structured, timestamped, and reproducible under documented conditions.
WHY IT EXISTS
THE PROBLEM
Clone operators ship faster than enforcement teams react. By the time a copycat is flagged manually, it may have accumulated reviews, revenue, and legitimacy. Investigations were ad-hoc: screenshots in folders, spreadsheets, work that couldn't be rerun. PhantomTrace closes that gap. The platform runs the sweep, scores the suspects, and produces structured records on the same timeline the clone operators work on.
HOW WE WORK
THE METHOD
Forensic discipline. Structured outputs. No commentary — we surface facts and let the analyst decide. Outputs are reproducible and timestamped: the same scan can be rerun under documented conditions, and the underlying signal is exposed for independent review. We don't score without explaining the signal. We don't export without including the source data. Decisions about enforcement and admissibility remain with the client and their counsel.
Investigations are organised by case. Each client, brand, or matter runs in its own workspace — tracked apps, schedules, and search results never cross between cases. Multi-client teams keep work cleanly separated.
